First BaPtist Church Sulligent

Reaching Sulligent - Touching the World

Notes from Jeff

Thanks to Jim Rogers for leading the music portion of our worship time last Sunday.  I had gotten home from the hospital about 2:30am after a bout with some serious stomach virus.  Then Lisa took Macie to the ER Sunday morning with the same thing.  I think we are all well at the present time.  Thanks for stepping in Jim.  And thank you church for your calls and prayers.

Church Choir…I pray that “Hallelujah, Light Has Come” was a tremendous worship experience for you, I know it was for me.  I have worshipped through the preparation of this musical, but there’s something about the moments that you get to share in that worship with your church family.  Thank you choir for a rich Christmas experience.  Karen & Carlyle, you did a wonderful job with the narration.  Soloist:  each one of you were great!  (Except Lee, I would like to see you loosen up a little more!!  And thanks Basses for the choreography)  Youth Choir ladies, you added so much to that final song.   As always, we don’t learn this without help from our pianists, thanks Mary Alice and Dawn.  And we’re unheard without help from Billy at the sound system.  Thanks also choir for the gift, I’m sure we’ll find a great use for it!

We will begin our rehearsal times on Wednesday, January 6th at regular time.  I hope to see you there and well rested.

I also want to thank Teresa Price, Elaine Gilmore, and all of their help for organizing the fellowship time following the musical.  The CLC was beautiful and the food was fantastic.  Thank you ladies!

Youth Choir...Thank you for sharing during our Hanging of the Green service.  Our rehearsal begin again on Sunday afternoon, January 10th!

Kids Choir...You were absolutely incredible sharing “The First Day of Christmas” with us!  You made us laugh-about our families, think-about our relationship to God, reflect-on the true meaning of Christmas, and remember that we have a responsibility to share Christ with the people around us.  It was a perfect closing service for us as a church family.  Leigh, Molly, Laine and helpers; thanks for your love for and work with our children.

It was good to have Bailey Weeks and Elijah Cockerham share their talents on the piano with us last month.  You both played beautifully and we thank you for leading us during the offertory time.  Look forward to hearing you again soon!
