Glad we got our Shop Til U Drop trip in before Christmas this year.  It helped

me to get my Christmas shopping finished, and started for that matter.

And thanks to some really creative singing I’ll never hear some of those

Christmas songs the same way again.  (Thanks Payton, Micah and Sara Beth!!)

Enjoyed the time with ya’ll and thanks to Brandon and Em for going with us!

There are some big things on the busy horizon for the Youth Ministry here at FBC:

You know that the Youth Ministry is gonna be taking some trips                                                                     this year so it’s time to start making some money to go on those                                                                     trips.  Our first fundraiser of the year will be in January.  Our Soup and Spud fundraiser will be Sunday, January 24th.  Pick up your reservation sheets and fill them up!  Then get them back to me by Wednesday night, January 20th.

Valentine Dessert Theater will actually fall on Valentine’s Day this year!  How convenient is that?!?  And I believe that we will get to be in the new building this year.  (of course I have said that before)  There will be a sign up sheet on the Youth Bulletin Board if you are interested in having a part in the program.  Make sure you get your name on it by the deadline cause I’ll be trying to get the parts out late in January.  Remember, you make money by helping with the setup and cleanup.  Being in the program is just the fun part.  Watch for the sign up list and for the schedule for decoration.

Turkey Bowl will be Sunday, February 7th!  Begin now to tell your

friends about it and invite them to be a part.  The crowds have slowly

grown each year and we have had more unchurched students in recent years.

That’s because you’re bringing them with you!  We’ll play the Turkey Bowl and

then head somewhere to eat and watch the game together.

I want to let you know that our location for the Youth Bulletin Board will be changing.  We will be moving it into the CLC.  You guys are in there for Sunday School, mission activities, and we will start meeting in there for DU also.  So we’re gonna get the YBB to a place that you’ll see it often.  Make sure that you stop and check it out often.  It’s one of the ways that I can let you know what’s happening.

The scripture at the top of the column is from Psalm 90.  It is a great psalm to read and think about as you enter into a new year.  A couple of quick key verses for me.  Of course, verse 12. I’m not gonna type it here cause I want you to go get your Bible and look it up!  How wise to number each day, to cherish and treasure each day.  To live each day to the fullest.  (See John 10:10)  And then verse 14.  To start each morning with Him and His love.  That gives us the reason and strength to sing and be glad.  I pray that 2010 will be a wonderful year for each of you.  And that you will number your days aright.

I love you guys and I’m praying for you!
